Andy Tan has done a lot of editorial work and is based out of the Netherlands. What I love about this particular photograph is that it doesn't look like a portrait so much as a landscape of a human. Particularly on her right side, where the light creates just the smallest highlighted lines to give the contour of her face. There's such a dramatically intimate look about her with the dramatic lighting and soft lines about her lips and nose. There is a subtle variation in the colours, especially around the shadows, where it fades into an almost green shade, which I find mesmerising. Also, as far as consideration, I love the faint contrast between her lips and face that shows how much he [or possibly she] took care to insure that the make-up did not create a bright, poppy contrast.
