Alex Stoddard is only 17, but his photography is nothing short of breathtaking, at least in my opinion. He goes all out on his self-portraits to not only illustrate the concept in his head, but to do it well. He started off with a '365' project, where he took a different self-portrait every day. At the beginning, he didn't even know how to operate his camera beyond the auto setting, and didn't really shoot for a concept. He let his art lead him, and now has a stunning variety of original and inspirational conceptual self-portraits.
Splash is a great example of how he's not afraid to go all out for a good photograph. He's not concerned about looking good, so much as getting an emotion or concept across and I believe that this is shown strongly through this particular self-portrait.
