Taylor Stevenson: Samuel James

Samuel James is an expert at using light. His work goes deep into Nigerian Tribes by using a fast shutter speed that it slightly under exposed. James is able to create a great range of color in his photographs. This color contrast helps to bring light to what is happening in Niger Delta which was once a beautiful forest Niger Delta is now the home to the fifth largest supplier of oil. This drastic change in the community is apparent in James' work.

Samuels work defiantly expresses emotion because in majority of his photographs I can feel the tension within the collection.
