Phil Borges- Lexi Wilson

Phil Borges is a documentary photographer and filmmaker. For 25 years he has been documenting indigenous and tribal cultures. Many of His photographs are portraits of these individuals. In his images, everything is gray scale except for the individuals’ skin. He aims to portrait these individuals in a way that shows their stories and culture.

In this time in history, it is important to keep culture and language alive in a society. In Borges images he strives to create an apprehension of the challenges they face.  As he pursues his subjects, he listens to their ways of life. He then tells these groups’ stories in the hopes for a social change.
