Nick Knight - Hannah Nees

Nick Knight is often referred to as fashion photography's Andy Warhol. Knight takes his work to higher levels with the use of different technology, such as digital editing and his experiments with lighting. One technical aspect that Knight is known for is his use of strobes when shooting. In a shoot for i-D magazine, he once use three strobes to create a high contrast, black and white image. Knight's camera of choice is the Hasselblad H2 with a 100mm lens. One more technique that Knight utilizes it the use of lighting. He experiments with soft boxes, strobes, and Magnum reflectors.

Over his career, Knight has worked on many controversial issues. Through his fashion photography, he subtly highlights on matters such as racism, disability, ageism, and weight. Knight mostly focuses on challenging the idea of beauty and what it means to society. One other concept that he likes to focus on is causing social change rather than highlighting on it through out his fashion photography.
