Baron Adolph de Meyer

Baron Adolph de Meyer was a photographer back in the 1920s. He was the first appointed full-time fashion photographer for American Vogue in 1913 and also worked with Vanity Fair and then Harper's Bazaar in 1922.

While working with Harper's Bazaar in Paris, he became really famous with his photographs and started photographing and associating with the elite of society. But in 1934 when Harper's Bazaar wanted to change their image, it didn't fit with de Meyer's photographs and he was out of a job. Most of his prints were destroyed during WWII, but some do still remain.
I think it's really great to see how photography was when it first stating to become a media in our culture. The 1920s was full of fashion and glamour and seeing a glimpse of the time is always a treat for me.
