Annie Leibovitz

Annie Leibovitz is an American portrait photographer whose image (for me, personally) of John Lennon and Yoko Ono is perhaps one of her most famous, and one of the most famous images in recent pop-culture

Given our past few lessons on copying I think this image poses some significance to our class as well - Leibovitz originally took this photo in an attempt to recreate/embody this:

She does have other famous images, among them the image of Mick Jagger in the elevator: 

I like the way her work seems to almost capture people in a jarring yet intriguing manner.
