Eric White is an American artist who graduated from RISD. He draws inspiration for his works, which often depict female subjects, from pre-WW2 art and advertising. check out some of his work on his website
I checked out his site and really like his work--it's really interesting how he uses photography/film lighting in his paintings, especially given the pre-WWII era depicted. It's great to see such recent painting work focused on such a specific subject and executed so well. I love the "Orgonomic Functionalism Conference" piece.
