Mary Pforr- Week 8 Artist post
Artist: Sabrina Scucchi
Photo Cred: https://www.flickr.com/photos/39638504@N07/
i. Sabrina's work constantly works with focus and depth of field. The focus is put on either the foreground or background and the rest of the picture is blurred out. The photographs are generally a bit underexposed to emphasize the contrast- especially in the second photograph. This creates almost a black frame around the subject and their shadow.
ii. There constant use of the elements unity and harmony- by creating the contrast and depth with different focuses in each of her photos, each one has a balance of shadows and highlights.
iii. While editing photos I find myself spending a lot of time working on the exposure and contrast layers. The balance and clarity in some of Sabrina's photographs seemed to be made by playing with high contrast and overexposure- which I am sometimes hesitant to do, but taking risks may help me achieve this aesthetic.
