Halpern uses strong focus with motion blur in several of his photos. This motion blur creates an extra level of emphasis on whatever the focus is on. His use of vivid colors creates interest throughout the entire photo. The first photo has a person wearing a yellow dress that draws the eye straight to it while it is on the contrasting deep navy background. However the small hint of red in the background to the left draws the eye back and through the rest of the photo. The motion blur in the second and third photo create focus on the subject for a moment, then pushes them back into just one part of the entire photograph.
