Bryan Schutmaat is a photographer based in Austin, Texas. All three of these pictures are from his project titled Grays the Mountain Sends. Schutmaat tends to find the inspiration for his photos in other photographers' work and it's easy to see some of the similarities between his photos and the ones he finds his inspiration from. Despite this, he still manages to make his work district from others, even those he is trying to emulate.
One thing I noticed when looking through his pictures is Schutmaat's attention to very specific detail. With each of his portraits that i looked at, the thing i immediately saw and was drawn to was the amount of color and depth that the subjects' eyes seemed to hold. It really makes the eyes stay out on their own, and it causes me to not only pay attention to only the eyes, but how the eyes are presented in contrast the the background behind the subject or even what the subjects themselves are wearing.
