Alec Soth is a Minneapolis-based photographer. The first photo is from his project titled Songbook, which is mostly comprised of portrait photos and the second photo is from his project titled The Last Days of W which is a combination of both portraits and landscapes. Portraits and landscapes seem to be Soth's area of interest.
I think Soth takes the time and pays a lot of attention to detail. I like the fact that he uses different techniques for some of his pictures. I especially appreciate his attentiveness blur and how he uses blur in some of his pictures in a very specific way.
