Weekly Artist Post- Bill Henson

Bill Henson

Bill Henson primarily shoots in very low lighting. He probably uses a higher ISO and he might use a tripod to achieve these pictures. The light and color in his pictures is captivating and sometimes haunting. He does a good mix of portraits and landscapes, all with an almost vintage 80s feel. In many of his portraits, he uses an opened aperture to have the focus on the subject.
Henson's pictures look like they could be from movies. They give me the impression that each picture has a story behind it. Something about the low lighting and the tones he brings out in his pictures really intrigues me and I think these are beautiful pictures.
