Using light and color consciously, the color schemes connect photos for example the pink in the man's love for his wife before and after she has passed away. Gray implements flash as well outside in bright like which gives a unique glow to the photo, and an almost perfect quality and focus.
Obviously photographing people in their last stages of life is risky, and personal which is what makes these photos nothing short of brilliant. Considering the types of emotions Gray was going through and the emotions he had to take in from his subjects makes this series of work unique and it does a clear job of telling a story.
