Kim Heacox is a writer and photographer heavily associated with National Geographic. He specializes in the colder regions of the planet, and most of his photography is from Alaska and Antarctica. He has several published works, including The Only Kayak, about Alaska's history and wildlife. He captures the barren beauty of the North (and very far South) with elegance while still "wow"ing me with the content. I lived for a time with Kim up in Alaska, and can tell that his ability to represent the country so well comes from both his technical skill and his profound connection to the region. See his website for more photos!
