A lot of his work is very reminiscent of painting--everything is so deliberately placed and lit. I love the similarity between the screenshot and the last photograph, as well. Crewdson's work is really heavy in mood and conveys a sense of loneliness and secrets (maybe even a little dispair), which really overlaps with Lynch's film work.
