Jan von Holleben

For a first choice, I searched through a couple of photographers in the Tiny Vices and I discovered this little gem: Jan von Holleben. He shoots quirky little photographs such as this:
and this
Many of his photographs involve children or child-like settings, which probably stemmed off of him studying to teach children with disabilities. He focuses his work on a philosophy called homo ludens, which is a man who learns from play.
A little earlier in career in 2008-2009, he was using more photo manipulation than now, but not in the sense you might think of. Here's a couple of photographs from his mutatis mutandis series:

  1. I love his manipulations (the last two). At first, I almost thought it was some sort of projection, and he was jumping in front of it. Great work and great job!

  2. The last 2 manipulations are really great, they're sort of make you work to understand what's going on. They're not straightfowardly manipulations (at least for me), which gives off this visual tension. Thanks for posting such interesting work!
