Blueballs, 2009
Birth in Futureverse, 2009
David Benjamin Sherry is a photographer who is based in NYC. He has a BFA in photography from the Rhode Island School of Design and has an MFA in photography from Yale (ohhhh snap). Most of his work has a heavy focus on color and involves his subjects becoming a part of the environment, rather than just living in it. One of my favorite aspects of his work is the way he seemingly effortlessly combines nature with people, such as in Cloudbusting. I also enjoy his clever titles, like Blueballs (c'mon, that's pretty good). In some of his work, it's hard to tell whether he actually painted the subject before the shoot, or if that was done afterwards, which I think makes his work even more intriguing.
Really ejoyed looking at his work, and i love how he just covers his subjects in color. The last image kind of reminds me of Yayoi Kusama's work.
