Martin Hyers & William Mebane

I was first attracted to their work because I admired that they told a story through simplicity, (photos will probably best demonstrate this):




Their work seems to revolve around bringing mundane objects with a story to prominence - pictures of somebodies (assumed) daughter on a wall are seen everyday but Hyers and Mebane's image of it - the nostalgic allusions through the colour pallet as well as the washed out appearance make the mundane seem extraordinary - who is this girl? We can see that she has grown. 
The same I feel can be said for the pot on the stove.
