Stanley Kubrick

Apart from his tremendous success in filmmaking, Stanley Kubrick was also a prolific photographer. It was his skill at capturing still images that led to the aesthetically wonderful films he made. His photos have a haunting quality to them, especially the self-portraits. Kubrick inspires the hell out of me, and is the greatest example of why filmmakers should also be photographers.
Great collection of his 1940s photos: here

  1. Wow, I checked out your link and each shot really is amazing--his eye for composition is impeccable, and the lighting always gorgeous. It's almost too awesome for my eyes, as are his shots in film. Thanks for introducing me to his photography!
