Steve McCurry- Portraits
Born in Philadelphia, Steve McCurry
studied film at Pennsylvania State University. He is one of the most well known
contemporary photographers and has traveled the world with only a bag of
clothes and his camera.
McCurry’s portraits are beautiful
due to the color contrasts that he uses and the different subjects that he uses
around the world. He captures exotic people and the colorful ways that they
live.
The first picture I enjoy because of
the color contrast with the woman’s shirt and her background. Her background
also matches the red spots on her cheeks. The top right picture is really
interesting with the details of the man’s wrinkles. The colors of his skin and
his clothes also contrast each other. The bottom picture is unique due to the
fact of his orange beard contrasting with the white in the beard. Also, It
contrasts with the paint on his forehead and the decorations he has on his
chest.
