Darek Imadi - Artist Post

Doug Dubios is an American photographer who is best known for his portraiture work. He received is MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute and is a professor at Syracuse University. These photos are from his series titled "My Last Day at Seventeen".

In all three of these photos the use of color contrast unbelievably well composed. The beige backdrop with the white dog and black birds in the first photo or the different shades of reds in the homes of the second image create striking images.

I chose Doug Dubios because I hope emulate how his use of drastically contrasting colors in my own photos. Going out into the world and having a keen eye for those kinds of color combinations is important when trying to compose any type of photo.
