Christopher Hopkins- artist post 1

Alexander Allison

1.  Alexander Allison, a long time civil engineer with the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans, was also an amateur photographer. He shot many images of New Orleans houses, buildings, street scenes, churches, cemeteries, statues, port activities, Mardi Gras, and more.
2.  I chose these images because it shows some of the leaders of the 20 century.  Even though times were hard, people supported and looked up to these leaders for bravery and /or innovation.  I like how gloomy and heroic the photos seemed to capture.   You can also tell that the camera of that time period took time to capture and create.
3.  The artists chose these pics because he believed that the monuments of those particular leaders meant something.  It seems as if those were the great leaders of that time period that stood for greatness and strength in the south.
