Branislav Kropilak was born in Slovakia, however he spent
most of his childhood traveling and living in Belgium. He graduated the Private
Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava, and in 2009, he was awarded second prize at
the Sony World Photography Awards in Cannes.
I like his work because he uses light to make everyday
objects like light-posts and parking garages look cinematic. He achieves this
by using very geometric compositions and he brings out the colors of these
objects through carefully manipulated lighting.
