Alexa Meade

Alexa Meade is another artist who paints upon the human form. With her work, she uses photography as her canvas, literally. Her photographs are depicting painted canvases and some of her photographs are documentations.

Here's the artist herself, showing the comparison of painted vs. non painted.

This is from her series called Transit. This was a performance piece where one of her painted subjects went out in the "real" world.

I really like how her work also spans across different types of art, from photography to performance. And it's cool that she herself is the one who paints her subjects, not just assistants like Bolin, a photographer I did last week. But, she herself is not in her work while Liu Bolin is, which makes each artist different even though they do similar techniques.

  1. I saw this artist a couple years ago and thought her work was so awesome! These are so convincing, it's really wonderful. I think my favorite is the image of the older man in the subway, the mix of painting/photo realm is so in your face and beautiful.
