Cole Thompson knew he wanted to be a fine art photographer early on in life. He found most of his inspiration to pursue a career in photography after reading George Eastman's biography, the founder of Kodak. Thompson's work can best be compared to Ansel Adams and Wynn Bullock. His work is mostly dark, mysterious shots. When asked the everyday question of "why black and white?" his answer is always that his photography reflects the world he grew up in. Thompson grew up in a time where everything from television to racial segregation was black and white. He is experienced in both digital and darkroom. He believes that black and white captures feelings beneath the surface more than with color.
He has a series of photographs that portray this lone man persona.
