On the first of class we all discussed what exactly passion
is, and the conclusion we seemed to reach was that it is not just something we
simply inherit in our DNA. Instead, passion is something we discover over time
and then MUST build upon everyday. Passion takes work, time, reflection, and can lead to a massive amount of frustration. I’m almost 100 percent certain it took Aaron Huey years to
discover his passions for correcting the injustices brought upon the Lakota peoples. Then, it probably took many more
years to figure out how to use and ultimately present those passions. And now,
after listening to his TED talk it is clear that he’s still not done. That’s
the beautiful thing about passion: it’s not set in stone, it’s not just a means
to an end. It grows as you grow. It changes as you change,
and when you invest in your passion the results can be incredible, not only for
you, but for everyone who witnesses it.
