i. I know a lot of Noorann's work is using film, and by looking at the photographs I am assuming all handheld and a bit overexposed. Some areas of light are so white that the exposure must have been set a bit higher as to negate the contrast. The shutter speed also seems a bit slower because there is slight blur due to camera shake.
ii. Noorann explores body types and expressions that go against the standard- their average lives that may seem abnormal and obscure to others. Yet they are posed in their daily lives seemingly content with what they are doing and the state they are in.
iii. I've been a fan of Noorann's work for a while, and I can now appreciate how she works with exposure. It is interesting how she makes the choices of what to over expose and what to under expose- if gives a different type of depth to some of her work that would otherwise may not be taken the same if were to have the correct exposure.
