1. Obviously, Regan uses black and white film or filter setting on this camera. He also uses editing to manipulate the objects which he uses blur or depth of field to control.
2. Regan's dark images are used to portray the struggle of mental illness. The manipulation of these images also portray the inhumane feeling of mental illness, like the women with her head detached from her body and the person blurred.
3. Personally, these pictures resonate with me because I have dealt with mental illness for some years. It's extremely personal including the records and extreme emotions. It's a great space to portray and talk about something that's stigmatized so much.
