Scott Evers makes some sweet photographs. He uses a full-frame Canon DSLR with a wide variety of lenses. For his wildlife photography, which he is most well known for he uses some absolutely absurdly long lenses. I'm pretty sure I saw a photo where he looked like he was using an 800mm telephoto lens. I'm not sure how much post-processing he does, but he definitely is an active photographer who puts himself in the right place or uses the right lens to get the perfect shot.
The theme of his photography is a bit all over the place, but its cool because he's into a lot of the same stuff I am. Wildlife, natural landscapes, urban landscapes, public safety related stuff (firefighters mostly) are some of his obvious areas of interest but I think that at the end of the day he will take a photo of anything that catches his eye. He clearly has a thing for Eagles (can you blame him?)
What got me interested in his work is how hard he works for the perfect shot. For example, in some of his firefighting photos he is literally up close and personal to the fire. He is probably feeling absurd amounts of heat and is closer than I would want to get, personally. But he does it to capture the moment in an interesting way and I respect that. Then there's the wildlife photography. Eagles aren't exactly on every street corner, he has to work hard to get these shots. Granted, he's probably using a ridiculous amount of optical zoom to get those shots from a distance as to not disturb them... but being able to track and shoot something as fast and agile as an eagle through a viewfinder is impressive to say the least.
