Philip Toledano (aka Mr. Toledano) is an advertising and
editorial photographer and fine artist perhaps best known for his conceptual
portrait work and his fine art work. Much of his work deals with delusion and questioning where it comes from. From
beauty, ethics and morals, to politics. There’s no limit to how much we can lie
to ourselves, and that’s where he starts his photography.
One of his most fearless photography series began by
addressing his father’s mortality head-on, called “Days With My Father.” In
this series, he documented himself as the caretaker for his elderly father. This
was an extremely personal piece in comparison to his other work, as he faced his own delusions about his and his father's mortality, and has impacted
the direction of his work since.
