1) Wolfgang Tillman is a german fine-art photographer that lives by his motto, "I take pictures in order to see the world". He is known for a wide variety of mediums, all motivated equally by aesthetic and political interests and in formulation of reality and truth claims.

2) Looking at these images I see that they have a hint of chaos as well as beauty. In our world today we are busy building sky scrappers, houses, stadiums etc. and with that draws pollution which severely damages the land that was once there. These images show a glimpse of the beauty our natural world offers. Just staring at the photos, it somehow brings me peace and that's probably the number 1 reason for selecting these specific photos by Tillman.
3) Tillman's goal for this series was to show how chaotic and large this world of ours is and no matter how hard one tries to explain it, "it cannot be reliably imagined,imaged, believed or dreamed." Looking at the horizon of each of these photos, it seems like the sky is never ending which supports his goal. There's a far larger world out there full of chaos and beauty, it's hard to explain in words but these images give a glimpse of that.
