Luke Shadbolt is from Australia and grew up near the ocean. The photographer keeps the location of where these waves were captured a secret.
The pictures reflect the power of Ocean. The series of photos that I chose three from is called Maelstrom. The photos capture the power and ferocity of the ocean but yet show its beauty.
I was compelled by the first picture because of the wonderful color and light contrast. The deep greens and blues contrast with the light blues and whites. There is also a wonderful light that reflects down through the wave. None of these photos can be replicated because they captured one moment in time.
