1.Which of the artists many technical choices are of interest to you and why?
Birds technique involves a lot of photoshop. He uses the tools to make the picture look surreal or fairy tale like. I like how he does this because I know how many hours he puts into creating this idea and then executing it with layers upon layers on photoshop. His before and after pictures are so drastically different and I envy him how well he can work the software.
2. What do you believe are the artists conceptual and/or thematic intentions?
Birds intention is to present a photo that is of a whole new dimension. He takes a simple concept and then brings it to life with the power of photoshop. He works with both men and woman as his subjects which is refreshing because I usually see photographers who favor one or the other.
3. How do you personally respond to these choices and intents?
I respond to these choices by wanting to create something as extravagant as him. It may seem easy from looking at the photo but I want to learn the steps it takes to mastering a piece that takes hours maybe even days to complete. He does images as simple as a flower head to more complicated images such as the multiple umbrellas.
