Suren Manvelyan is from Armenia and started photographing when we was 16 in 1992 and became a profesional photographer in 2006. He photographs a variety of things like
really close macros to landscapes to portraiture. He's a really interesting guy to me and has done a lot of things other than photography, even though his photographic work has been published worldwide.
In the past 10 years Manvelyan has taught physics, mathematics, projective geometry and astronomy at the Yerevan Waldorf School. For 13 years, he served as a scientific researcher at the Institute for Physical Research of National Academy of Sciences.
AND he has a PhD in Theoretical Physics with his research focusing on Quantum Chaos.
His most published and well known work is his project called "Your Beautiful Eyes". This doesn't need anymore words to explain, you only need to see it (pun alert)
Honestly, these photographs don't even look real. My mind was blown when I first saw these! How can our iris look like these canyons of sand!
He also did a series on animal eyes called "Animal Eyes"

And here's some of his portraiture
And another fun fact, he plays 5 instruments: guitar, cello, piano, block flute, and the lyre.

I get erections from interdisciplinary stuff like this. Is this man a god? The images from the eyes remind me of detailed drawings in lab notebooks.
